Forest Hills Police Help Nab Homicide Suspect, Investigate Break-Ins

May 9

  • Police received a complaint that a credit card was used fraudulently to place an order for Dominos Pizza.

May 10

  • A 12-year-old child ran a bicycle into a moving car at the intersection of Fairview Road and Kohrnak Lane. Police responded to the accident, and the child was taken to Children’s Hospital.
  • A deaf woman and her roommate stopped an on-duty officer to report that they had been followed by a black Monte Carlo. In writing, the woman said she stopped on Barclay Avenue near the Westinghouse Recreation Center to take a picture of the refurbished 1980’s car, not knowing someone was inside. The driver rolled down the windows, began yelling, and tailed the two until they came upon the police car. 
  • A man was charged with public intoxication after police found him lying on a median strip on the 1500 block of Ardmore Boulevard.

  • Forest Hills police contacted a resident about a violent domestic dispute that occurred in Braddock Hills. An officer told the resident to call Braddock Hills police.

May 12

  • Responding to an early-morning call from an elderly resident about a potential break-in at her house, police found no signs of disturbance.
  • Forest Hills police assisted Braddock Hills officers in a two-vehicle accident on Ardmore Boulevard in North Braddock. Minor injuries were reported, along with a DUI arrest.
  • A caller reported that four men were fighting in the Taco Bell parking lot on Ardmore Boulevard.  Upon arrival, no one was fighting in the parking lot, but police stopped four juveniles, one of whom had called in the complaint.

May 13

  • Forest Hills officers assisted the Wilkinsburg police with what they thought to be a hostage situation at a house. Officers asked residents to step outside of the house before they checked it and found nothing.
  • Police assisted North Braddock officers in responding to an armed robbery. Officers were unable to track down the suspect.

May 15

  • Police arrested a homicide suspect in Wilkinsburg after a foot chase involving officers from multiple police departments, including Forest Hills. An Edgewood officer made the arrest.

May 16

  • Police responded to a report that local company C & F Partnership was broken into. Allegheny County police are assisting in an investigation.

May 17

  • Police responded to a neighbor dispute on Wellington Road. The complainant said her neighbor was making terroristic threats while holding a pitchfork.
