We have a winner of Patch's "Nutcracker Tradition" photo contest. Kristie Bachor of Glenshaw won the Forest Hills-Regent Square Patch's contest by entering a photo of her daughter, Mollie, holding the nutcracker she got as a gift from her family after she performed in the Sarah Heinz House musical version of the Nutcracker earlier this month. The Bachor family wins two tickets to the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's classic story. Recognized as one of the most popular ballets of all time, "The Nutcracker" is a holiday classic based on the German tale written by E.T.A. Hoffmann and set to the score of Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. As Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre approaches its October season premiere, Tuesday marks opening day for single ticket sales to 2012-13 season productions. This upcoming season features Pittsburgh premieres, family favorites and a mixed repertory performance at the August Wilson Center.
