Rocky Road Causes Flat Tires on Route 30

Forest Hills police found several vehicles with flat tires in Plaza Shopping Center after they hit rocks on the highway in North Braddock—and other Forest Hills police news.

A motorist traveling Route 30 on Jan. 28 called Forest Hills police to report he had run over debris along Ardmore Boulevard/Route 30 westbound coming from North Braddock into Forest Hills. When police arrived at the Plaza Shopping Center to take a report about 8:39 p.m., officers found several vehicles pulled into the parking lot with flat tires. All the drivers reported hitting what appeared to be rocks in the roadway in North Braddock. The drivers all had help en route. Forest Hills officers advised them to file reports with North Braddock Police Department, which was informed of the roadway hazard. Broken Pipe Causes Icy Issues at Domino's Pizza

Road rage incident, dogs left out in cold and damaged hedges among other police blotter items in Forest Hills this week.

Water and cold temperatures can create hazards for motorists and pedestrians this time of year, even at places with hot ovens. Police received a report about 1:30 p.m. that employees at Domino's Pizza were spraying water on the sidewalk and Ardmore Boulevard outside the business. Upon investigation, police learned that a pipe break was responsible for the mess and that the employees were trying to clean it up. Police advised them they were inadvertently causing hazardous conditions. They stopped the cleanup and put down salt. The borough public works crew also was called to throw some salt on Ardmore.
