A 15-year-old has been missing since Thursday.
Wilkinsburg Police are searching for a missing 15-year-old, according to WPXI. Kayla Cohen last was seen Thursday morning at her Hill Avenue home. According to police, Kayla called her stepfather at 4 p.m. and said she had to stay after school at City High School. However, police report that Kayla had not attended school. The teen is 5'4 and weighs 120 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes, and she wears glasses. She was last seen wearing a gray sweater and black pants. The 28-year-old woman was found dead on South Trenton Avenue.
The Allegheny County medical examiner's office identified the woman found shot to death in Wilkinsburg as 28-year-old Monica Proviano, according to the Post-Gazette. Wilkinsburg police found Proviano, of Wilkinsburg, early Wednesday morning lying on South Trenton Avenue with a gunshot wound to the head, according to the report. Allegheny County police released photos of Proviano's shoes to the public to try to get help identifying her. The newspaper reports Proviano's family identified her early this morning at the medical examiner's office.

A 19-year-old will face charges in common pleas court after being accused of assaulting a woman near the East Busway’s Hamnett Station in Wilkinsburg. Michael Don Le Robinson of Pittsburgh waived his hearing on charges of aiding consumation of crime, robbery, disorderly conduct and simple assault before Wilkinsburg District Justice Kim Hoots last week. The teen—along with a juvenile male—is accused of assaulting a 26-year-old woman who got off of a bus at 12:50 a.m. on March 10 and stealing her purse. Wilkinsburg police filed the charges. A Hill District man was arrested in Wilkinsburg Thursday.
A man from the Hill District accused of shooting and killing a man in McKeesport earlier this year was found in a Wilkinsburg basement on Thursday. Homicide suspect Mark Leonard, 32, was found hiding in the basement of a residence in the 1200 block of Morrow Street at approximately 9:40 a.m. According to a press release from the U.S. Marshals, he was found trying to secrete himself above furnace duct work in an attempt to get away from police. U.S. Marshals found him and arrested him. Wilkinsburg police officers assisted. Allegheny County Police charged Leonard with criminal homicide and several firearms offenses for his alleged involvement in the Jan. 11 shooting death of Jayemond Bailey inside the Street Stars Bar in McKeesport. …

A Wilkinsburg woman will face several charges in common pleas court after being accused of setting up a robbery. Cheena Lanee Bruce, 23, was held for court on charges of aggravated assault, robbery, conspiracy and recklessly endangering another person. Bruce's case went before Wilkinsburg District Justice Kim Hoots last week. Wilkinsburg police filed the charges after a Jan. 10 incident in which Bruce is accused of being involved in setting up a robbery. According to police, Bruce met up with a man at a bus stop.
