Vincent's Pizza Park to Reopen Soon

If you've missed Vinnie Pies, you're in luck!

Vinnie Pie lovers, get those taste buds ready! According to the Post Gazette, owner Toni Zollner's attorney, Frank Rapp, said Vincent's Pizza in North Braddock could be reopening in the next few months. The Route 30 landmark—just over the Forest Hills border—was ordered to close last spring. The pizza shop was started by Vincent Chianese, Zollner's father, in 1950. One of the licensees,Chianese's business partner John Bellissimo (B&C Pizza Inc.), stopped paying the necessary royalties after Chianese died in March 2010. He owed $42,000. A New Vincent's Pizza is Rising from the (Oven) Ashes

The outside looks like a whole new building—a big change from the dated look the pizza shop and bar had when it closed last spring. The only questions remaining are: How soon? Will it retain the name Vincent's Pizza Park? And what does the inside look like? Are you looking forward to the return of the Vinnie Pie? Do you have a favorite …

Is Vincent's Pizza Planning a Comeback on Route 30?

The owner isn't saying but remodeling appears to be under way at the North Braddock landmark, just over the Forest Hills border—and Vinnie Pies could return.

From the outside, it would appear that the building might be a phoenix rising from the ashes that used to line the hot ovens at the former Vincent's Pizza Park on Ardmore Boulevard. There is apparent remodeling under way. Dave Andrews, code enforcement officer for North Braddock Borough, said he is working with a contractor hired to fix up the place to make sure the changes meet the borough's building code. He has also reviewed plans that might signal a comeback of the beloved pizza place. Andrews said the borough is waiting for a building permit to be finalized and hopes that the owner moves forward with plans. North Braddock Borough manager Douglas Margureit referred Patch's questions about plans for the building to Mark Flaherty, …
