Winter Storm Warning: Several Inches of Snow Predicted for Forest Hills-Regent Square Area

The snow is expected to start Sunday night.

Though it's officially spring, it seems as though the Forest Hills-Regent Square area will experience some more winter weather. The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the entire Pittsburgh region, including Forest Hills, Regent Square, Edgewood and Swissvale. The warning is in effect from 11 p.m. Sunday through 11 a.m. Monday. Snow is expected to be most intense from midnight Sunday through the pre-dawn hours of Monday, accumulating 4 to 7 inches before ending by Monday afternoon. Heavy snow could make traveling hazardous. Winter Weather Advisory: Freezing Rain & Snow Predicted for Forest Hills-Regent Square

A wintry mix of precipitation is expected to begin Sunday evening.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a winter weather advisory for the Pittsburgh region, including Forest Hills-Regent Square, from 11 p.m. Sunday until 2 p.m. Monday. A period of snow and freezing rain is expected overnight Sunday, before changing to all rain by Monday afternoon. A winter weather advisory means that snow, sleet or freezing rain will make travel difficult. Winter Storm Moving Into Western Pennsylvania

A winter storm that could bring several inches of snow is expected to hit the Forest Hills-Regent Square area Tuesday night.

A winter storm that could bring several inches of snow is expected to hit the Pittsburgh area Tuesday night. The National Weather Service issued the advisory that runs from 6 p.m. Tuesday through 7 p.m. Wednesday. The heaviest snow is expected to fall in the Laurel Highlands of Fayette, Westmoreland and Somerset counties. However, areas south and east of the city, including Forest Hills, Edgewood and Swissvale, could get 4-to-6 inches. Neighborhoods west of Pittsburgh are expected to get 2-to-4 inches of accumulation. The weather is expected to arrive late Tuesday afternoon as a mix of rain and snow before intensifying overnight. More Snow Possible This Week in Forest Hills-Regent Square Patch Area

Didn't Phil say it was gonna be an early spring? Because the weather forecast for later this week definitely sounds like winter.

On Monday, it was in the 40s, with plenty of sunshine. Today? Things are gonna look a little different. Rain and snow showers are expected after 2 p.m., with about a half-inch of accumulation possible. After 3 a.m. Wednesday we could see another half-inch of precipitation. Then? "A frontal boundary will push into the area Thursday night into Friday, bringing a wintry mix to the area. Light accumulations of snow and ice area possible with this system," according to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service. Weather Service Issues Advisory: Expect Lots of Snow This Weekend

National Weather Service forecasts hazardous travel conditions.

Two Clipper-type systems will mean lots of snow to western Pennsylvania this weekend, according to the National Weather Service. A winter weather advisory for snow is in effect from 10 a.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday. The weather service forecasts snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches; those totals could go as high as 6 to 10 inches in the higher ridge elevations. The snow will begin mid-morning Saturday and end Sunday evening, with the heaviest snow coming Saturday afternoon into midday Sunday, NWS states on its website. A winter weather advisory for snow means snowfall will cause travel difficulties—be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibility. There could be very little rush to the Monday morning rush hour. The National Weather service in Pittsburgh has issued a winter weather advisory from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday for most of Western Pennsylvania, including Ross Township and West View. A mixture of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is expected overnight into Monday morning. Because of a very cold ground and snow pack, roads and sidewalks are expected to be icy. Roads Getting Slick: See Conditions Before You Decide to Head Out

The snow is falling, and the roads aren't so hot. Use our interactive map to check out roads in and around your neighborhood.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh is forecasting several inches of snow Friday afternoon, and road conditions are deteriorating. By late morning, roads around the Forest Hills-Regent Square area were pretty much snow covered. Cars were having trouble on some hills and most secondary roads and PennDOT had still not treated some state roads.
