Westbound I-376 'Bathtub' Closed Tuesday Night in Pittsburgh

Detours will be in effect for the Parkway East traffic headed westbound, and to the North Shore and Parkway North.

The westbound Parkway East/Central in Pittsburgh will be closed between Grant Street (Exit 71A) and the Fort Pitt Bridge/I-279 ramps— the area known as the "bathtub"—on Tuesday night, Dec. 11, weather permitting. According to PennDOT District 11 Press Officer Jim Struzzi, crews will be sawing and sealing pavement joints, placing barrier and other minor activities needed to complete the work. Westbound I-376 will be closed from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. on Wednesday.  Signs will be posted to guide motorists. Traffic Alert: Lots of PennDOT Projects This Weekend

Before you head out, see which roads, ramps, bridges and tunnels will have restrictions.

Residents entering the Parkway East from the Forest Hills or Edgewood-Swissvale ramps and planning to head downtown may be impacted by several construction and maintenance projects this weekend. Here's the rundown from PennDOT. Parkway East (I-376) Squirrel Hill Tunnel Rehabilitation Traffic in the inbound Squirrel Hill Tunnel on the Parkway East will be restricted to a single lane from 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights for tunnel rehabilitation work.  Grant Street Tunnel improvements Inbound Parkway East will be closed between Grant Street (Exit 71A) and the Fort Pitt Bridge/I-279 ramps from 9 p.m. on Friday through approximately noon Saturday.
