Allegheny County Police Seek Suspect in McKeesport Shootings

Julian Sims, the suspect, is known to frequent Wilkinsburg and Braddock.

A man known to frequent the areas of Wilkinsburg, Braddock, and Duquesne is wanted in connection with the shooting of four people during a New Year's Eve party in McKeesport. According to Allegheny County police, the shooter has been identified as 20-year-old Julian Sims. A warrant has been obtained for Sims, charging him with one count of criminal attempt homicide, four counts of aggravated assault, four counts of recklessly endangering other persons, and firearms violations. Sims has a previously existing warrant for firearms violations. Sims is a light skinned black male, approximately 5 feet, 7 inches; and about 145 pounds. He has freckles and a large tattoo on the left side of his neck that says “Bridgette”. He should be considered …

Former Wolverine Quarterback Faces Trial in McKeesport Shooting Death

Vondre Griffith, a 2007 Woodland Hills graduate, was held for court on a charge of criminal homicide in the death of Tameko Wall.

Vondre Bahel Griffin, 23, of Braddock will stand trial in connection with the shooting death of Tameko Wall, 37, outside a McKeesport after-hours bar on Aug. 5. Magisterial District Judge Beth S. Mills held Griffin for court on charges of criminal homicide and carrying firearms without a license. Griffin was denied bail and is being held in Allegheny County Jail. The Post-Gazette reported that Wall was shot in the head outside the Sportsman's Club, also known as Pav's Tavern, on Fifth Avenue in McKeesport. Allegheny County homicide detective Patrick Kinavey testified Griffin told investigators he fired several shots after being backed against a wall by three men outside the bar by a car wash, according to a story in the McKeesport Daily …

Woodland Hills Takes on McKeesport Tonight

The Friday Woodland Hills-McKeesport matchup is a nonconference game, but that doesn't mean it's not going to be a good one. The game between McKeesport and Woodland Hills is among 67 matchups chosen nationwide as part of the Great American Rivalry Series, presented by the U.S. Marine Corps. About 6,000 fans are expected to fill the stands of Woodland Hills Wolvarena at 7 p.m. to witness a rematch of the teams from the 2005 WPIAL AAAA championship game.
