Wilkinsburg Hosts Public Meeting Tonight on Liquor License Referendum
The meeting is at 5:30 p.m. at the Wilkinsburg Borough Building, 605 Ross Ave.
Wilkinsburg Borough will hold a special public meeting about liquor licensing at 5:30 p.m. tonight, Jan. 9, to garner input and answer questions about a proposed referendum enabling borough restaurants to apply for (R) liquor licenses from the state. The meeting will be held at the Wilkinsburg Borough Building, 605 Ross Avenue. A representative from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board will be present. Last year, the Wilkinsburg Community Development Corp. decided to try to get the proposed referendum on the May 21 primary election ballot. The corporation's board of directors is pursuing (R) liquor licenses as part of the Business District Revitalization Plan adopted by the borough in June 2010. The corporation believes restaurant …
