The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office said hypertensive cardiovascular disease contributed to 81-year-old Laurie McDonald's death.
Laurie McDonald, the 81-year-old elderly Bridgeville man who went missing Thursday in Wilkinsburg, died of hypothermia and hypertensive cardiovascular disease, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office said Wednesday afternoon. McDonald was found dead Sunday afternoon over an embankment in a wooded area near the Edgewood Borough dump, located alongside the Parkway East, according to Edgewood police. Allegheny County Homicide Unit and the medical examiner's office responded to the scene Sunday. Bridgeville police Chief Chad King said McDonald left for a doctor’s appointment in Homewood on Thursday and apparently got lost on his way home. Laurie "Larry" McDonald, the Bridgeville man who went missing Thursday night, was found Sunday afternoon in a wooded area.
The missing Bridgeville man who vanished Thursday night has been found dead in Edgewood, according to authorities. The body of Laurie “Larry” McDonald, 81, was found in a wooded area not far from the Parkway East, Bridgeville police Chief Chad King said. WPXI-TV reported McDonald’s body was found around 4:30 p.m. Sunday. King said McDonald left for a doctor’s appointment in Homewood on Thursday and apparently got lost on his way home. He somehow ended up on an access road, King said, and either crashed his car or got stuck in the mud. McDonald then called his wife around 9 p.m. Thursday to say he saw a gas station and planned to walk through a wooded area to get assistance. Wilkinsburg police found the car around 9:30 p.m. and had it towed…

His car was found Friday in a wooded area at the top of Digital Drive, not far from Ardmore, and cellphone GPS traces put his location in the same area.
An elderly man who went missing after a traffic accident in the 400 block of Ardmore Boulevard on Thursday still has not been found. On Thursday, Laurie "Larry" McDonald, 81, called his wife and told her that he was walking to a gas station after getting into an accident at about 9 p.m. near the 400 block of Ardmore Boulevard, police said. WTAE-TV reports that McDonald's car was found at about 3 a.m. Friday in a wooded area at the top of Digital Drive, not far from Ardmore, and police said cellphone GPS traces put his location in the same area. Must have been one long drs appt for an 81 year old.......9:00 pm call.....police tow car 9:30 pm.....with a short distance thru woods to see gas station n no one could find him.....on that extremely cold night.....he was found sunday!!!!....,,,wife calls 3:00 am....something smells!!!!!!   more ›
