UPDATE: Eastbound Business Route 22 Lane Has Reopened

Crews accessed pavement distress. The roadway has been reopened.

UPDATE: The ramp has been reopened as of 5:21 p.m. Saturday. A single lane closure is currently in place on eastbound Business Route 22 in Churchill Borough. The right lane is closed between the outbound Parkway East (I-376 Exit 80) and Rodi Road (Route 791) due to pavement buckling. PennDOT crews are accessing the situation and will reopen the lane as soon as possible. Outbound traffic on the Parkway East is asked to please slow down when exiting to Business Route 22. Motorists should use caution and be aware of changing traffic patterns when driving through the area. Parkway East Commercial Street Bridge Inspection Saturday and Sunday

Restrictions will be, as needed, from 6 a.m. to noon.

Short-term single lane closures on the westbound (inbound) Parkway East will occur on Saturday and Sunday mornings, Jan. 12 and 13, weather permitting. Crews will be inspecting the bridge that carries I-376 over Commercial Street between the Edgewood-Swissvale interchange and the Squirrel Hill Tunnel, according to PennDOT District 11 spokesman Jim Struzzi. Restrictions will occur as needed from 6 a.m. to noon both days. Crews from Mackin Engineering and the Sofis Rigging Co. will conduct the work. PennDOT advises motorists to use caution, slow down, and expect changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area. Parkway East Traffic Stoppages Sunday for Utility Work

Traffic will be stopped briefly Sunday morning to allow Comcast crews to install new lines across the Parkway in Wilkins and Monroeville

PennDOT District 11, in cooperation with Comcast, is announcing traffic in both directions on the Parkway East in Wilkins Township and the Municipality of Monroeville will be stopped briefly twice on Sunday morning, Dec. 16, weather permitting. Crews under contract with Comcast will be installing new lines over the Parkway East. PennDOT is not involved in this work. Two stoppages of approximately 10 minutes will occur between the Rodi Road/Penn Hills Interchange and the Monroeville/PA Turnpike Interchange. The first stoppage will occur at 9 a.m. near Exit 81 in Wilkins and the second at 11 a.m. west of Exit 84 in Monroeville. Braddock Avenue Restrictions Continue in Parkway East Area

The short-term lane closures will last through late October as work on the Squirrel Hill Tunnel project progresses.

Short-term lane closures on Braddock Avenue in the area of the Parkway East (I-376) Edgewood Swissvale interchange will continue through late October. Single lane closures and restrictions will occur as needed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Braddock Avenue. Crews will be conducting overhead work on the Parkway East ramps and bridges, according to Jim Struzzi, press office for PennDOT District 11. No restrictions will occur on the Parkway East in this area at this time. The work is part of the $49.5 million Squirrel Hill Tunnel rehabilitation project. The prime contractor is the Walsh Construction Co. of Canonsburg. PennDOT advises motorists to use caution, slow down and expect changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area. Visit …
