Christ Lutheran School Gives a Hand to Ronald McDonald House

See how these local students and teachers gave back to those in need.

Students and staff at Christ Lutheran School in Forest Hills got together to help families in need. During the month of February, the students and staff collected their chapel offerings for the Ronald McDonald House in Pittsburgh. Their goal was to "Stuff a Crib." A variety of things were collected such as pantry items, paper products for the kitchen and travel size personal hygiene items. A Pack 'n Play also was purchased with the monetary donations that were collected. The students also participated in a can tab collection contest. Each class collected can tabs for the entire month and tabs were weighed. A total of 28 pounds of tabs were collected—about 44,500 tabs. NFL's Steve Breaston Gives Back to Woodland Hills Students

A wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, Breaston has pledged to provide iPads to the WHSD for every 100 yards he gains in 2012.

The NFL's Steve Breaston is best known for gaining yards on the football field as a wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs. But the 2002 Woodland Hills graduate, who was a star player for the Wolverines, is giving back to students in the school district where he grew up so they can gain in the classroom. Breaston, who also played for the University of Michigan Wolverines and the NFL's Arizona Cardinals, will donate one iPad for every 100 yards he gains in 2012. To find out more, click here.
