Forest Hills Mother Charged with Endangerment After 4-Year-Old Found Wandering

The child, who had walked from her home to the Plaza Shopping Center, had no shoes or coat on a snowy day.

Markea Kirby, 31, of Forest Hills faces a preliminary hearing before District Judge Thomas Caulfield at 9 a.m. Dec. 5 on charges of endangering the welfare of children after her 4-year-old daughter was found wandering alone in the Plaza Shopping Center on Ardmore Boulevard on Nov. 27. According to an incident report filed by Forest Hills police, a woman approached an officer on patrol in the shopping center to advise him that another woman had found a very young child without shoes or a jacket near Jodi B's Restaurant. The second woman told the officer she had been driving through the shopping center, spotted the child and was concerned for her safety. Woman Faces Charges for Leaving Child in Locked Car

Yolanda Clay left her 5-year-old foster child in a locked car with the windows up while she shopping at Edgewood Towne Centre.

Yolanda Clay, 53, of Rankin faces a preliminary hearing at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 18 before District Judge Kim M. Hoots following her arrest after she left her 5-year-old foster child in a locked car with the windows up on Sept. 6 in Edgewood Towne Centre. Clay was arrested by Edgewood police when she returned to the car after shopping at Giant Eagle. She faces charges of endangering the welfare of a child, recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct. Police said she was unable to provide the child's last name or other information about him. The child was transported to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Allegheny County Children Youth and Family removed three other foster children from Clay's Rankin home following the incident, …
