Here are the Edgewood police reports for May 10 to 16.
A 15-year-old riding a bicycle was hit by a motorist in Edgewood last week. On May 16, Edgewood police received reports that a motorist making a left turn into the borough building parking lot hit the teen, who was taken to Children's Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. As of Monday, the car's driver had not been charged with anything. Reminder, May is National Bike Month. For links to advocacy organizations, click here. Edgewood police officers were called to Edgewood Primary on April 16 after a 9-year-old student brought a portion of a plastic toy BB gun to school. The incident will be handled by the school administration. The following incidents also were reported to the Edgewood Police Department: April 14 Retail theft was reported at Giant Eagle at Edgewood Towne Centre. The shooting occurred on Saturday.
Three people remain hospitalized after a Saturday shooting at Edgewood Towne Centre. According to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, a man walking past the Villa retail store before 4:30 p.m. began shooting at someone inside the store. The man inside shot back. Neither of the men shooting were injured, but three bystanders were hurt. According to WPXI, one bystander was hit in the leg, a second was hit in the upper hip and a third was shot in the upper body. All three were taken to UPMC Presbyterian, and one remains in critical condition. The following incidents were reported to the Edgewood Police Department. Information was obtained from call logs and police reports. Theft An East End Avenue reported a broken passenger side window on their vehicle on March 15. About $1 in change was stolen from the glove compartment. Assist Edgewood police assisted the Swissvale Police Department with a disturbance at Murrays Cafe on Noble Street. A possible sexual assault, egging and noise complaint among the other items in this week's Edgewood police blotter.
Edgewood police answered a call March 10 after a resident reported finding a bat in a Rockwell Lane house. Officers were able to remove the creature from the residence.
