Jonathan Miracle, 19, the homeless man who stole an Eastern Area Prehospital Services ambulance from in front of the Swissvale Fire Station, was held for court on Feb. 6 by District Judge Thomas Caulfield in his Forest Hills courtroom. A formal arraigment is scheduled for 11 a.m. March 26 in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court on charges of theft by unlawful taking-moveable property and criminal mischief-tampering with property filed by Swissvale police. According to a criminal complaint, the operator of the ambulance called police to report that the vehicle was missing at 9:45 p.m. on Jan. 8. A homeless man has been charged with taking an Eastern Area Prehospital Services ambulance parked at the Swissvale Fire Department Tuesday night.
A homeless man has been charged in the theft of an Eastern Area Prehospital Services ambulance Tuesday night. The Post-Gazette reports that Jonathan David Miracle, 19, has been charged with a felony count of receiving stolen property. The ambulance was recovered in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County. The ambulance had been parked at the Swissvale Fire Department at 7400 Irvine St. when it was discovered missing about 9 p.m. According to an official post on Twitter from Allegheny County, the Sprinter-style ambulance was fully stocked with a drug box and other supplies. The vehicle is white with orange lettering and the number 8 on its exterior. A few posts on Twitter Tuesday night said it was last seen on Route 837 near Clairton. …

Residents of the Forest Hills-Regent Square area can take advantage of two public flu clinics being offered this month. Monroeville Forbes Regional Hospital will be hosting a public flu vaccination clinic on Friday, Oct. 5, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the hospital’s Learning Centers. Appointments are available by calling the West Penn Allegheny Physician Access Line at 1-877-284-2000. Appointments are not required; walk-ins are welcome. Patients covered by Medicare Part B should bring their card to the vaccination session so that Forbes Regional can bill their Medicare carrier directly.
