Christ Lutheran School Gives a Hand to Ronald McDonald House

See how these local students and teachers gave back to those in need.

Students and staff at Christ Lutheran School in Forest Hills got together to help families in need. During the month of February, the students and staff collected their chapel offerings for the Ronald McDonald House in Pittsburgh. Their goal was to "Stuff a Crib." A variety of things were collected such as pantry items, paper products for the kitchen and travel size personal hygiene items. A Pack 'n Play also was purchased with the monetary donations that were collected. The students also participated in a can tab collection contest. Each class collected can tabs for the entire month and tabs were weighed. A total of 28 pounds of tabs were collected—about 44,500 tabs. National Lutheran Schools Week is Special for Forest Hills School

Christ Lutheran School plans fun activities from Jan. 27 to Feb. 1 to celebrate being part of Lutheran schools nationwide.

National Lutheran School Week begins on a Sunday, giving students at Christ Lutheran School in Forest Hills a chance to kick off a week of celebration by thanking the congregation that helps support the small, family-like school. This year's theme is "Baptized for This Moment." Appropriately, after Sunday's services, students will present churchgoers with bottles of water labeled with a Bible verse. School students will also participate as ushers and greeters for the 8 and 11 a.m. church services, which all school families have been invited to attend.
