Regent Square to be ‘Hopping’ with Bunnies Saturday

Animal Nature is hosting a party for rabbits and their owners.

A big bunch of bunny people will gather at Animal Nature in Regent Square on Saturday night to to dote on their fluffy friends.

“Bunny people are a really cohesive group and they love a party,” said Nina Wolf, co-owner of Animal Nature.

The Hoppy Hour party begins at 4 pm on Saturday June 29. The $15 admission includes two rabbit themed drinks provided by an in-house bartender.

There will also be special treats for the rabbits. Exercise pens and bunny condos will be set up for the animals to have their own social hour.

Bunny handlers, bunny friends and people who know nothing about bunnies — everyone is welcome, according to Wolf. Last year’s event drew a crowd of 70 people.

All proceeds from admission go to Rabbit Wranglers a non-profit group based in the South Hills that fosters abused, neglected and unwanted rabbits.

“They’re an awesome organization,” Wolf said.

According to Wolf, rabbits are the third most surrendered pet in shelters after cats and dogs, and Rabbit Wranglers is the only rescue specific to rabbits in Western, Pa.
