Looking for something to do this weekend? Patch has five suggestions to get you out and about.
When/Where: 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at Les Getz Memorial Field on Church Street.
Why Go: Sample some of the East End's greatest wings, plus music by the Living Spirit Praise Band, and children's activities.
Admission: $10 for adults and $5 for kids.
When/Where: 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at McKeesport.
Why Go: Travel to support the Wolverine varsity football team as they take on McKeesport in an away game.
When/Where: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at 200 Overdale Ave., Forest Hills.
Why Go: The annual block sale includes 30 to 35 families in the Edgewood Acres section of Forest Hills selling antiques, housewares, kids stuff, the usual fare. Homemade bagels are tradition, and a small garden market is being planned.
When/Where: 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at Animal Nature, 7610 Forbes Ave.Why Go: Come on by and get your dog washed, with your choice of shampoo
Admission: $10 per dog, no matter what size.
When/Where: 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6 at at the Forest Hills Presbyterian Church.
Why Go: Cub Scout Pack 90 will hold a meeting for new boys scouts in the first through fifth grades. Some of the annual activities are summer camp, indoor winter camp, Pinewood Derby, spring and fall campouts, an overnight zoo visit, fishing at Keystone Lake, pool day, bowling day, and a Pirates game.
