Get Out: Mayhem and Majesty, RADical Days, Flea Market

Looking for something to do this weekend? Patch has five suggestions to get you out and about.

1. Squonky Opera's 'Mayhem and Majesty' at the New Hazlett Theater

When/Where: 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 28 with a special 6 pm pre-show party on Saturday; 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 29 at the Hazlett Theater, 6 Allegheny Square East, Pittsburgh. 

Why Go: Forest Hills residents Jackie Dempsey and David Wallace and Regent Square resident Heidi Nagle will be performing. Check out the "Mayhem and Majesty" of Squonk Opera before the show goes to NYC for a three-week Off-Broadway run.

Admission: General tickets are $20 or $10 per person for kids, seniors and students.

2. RADical Days

When/Where: Various dates through Nov. 10.

Admission: Free.

When/Where: 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27,  Saturday, Sept. 28 and Sunday, Sept. 29 at Regent Theater, and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. 

Why Go: "Museum Hours" is an ode to the bonds of friendship, an exploration of an unseen Vienna and the power of art to both mirror and alter our lives.

Admission: $9.50 ($6.75 matinee) for adults, $6.75 for seniors and $6.50 for a child.

4. WHHS Marching Band & Images Visual Ensemble

When/Where: 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Wolvarena.

Why Go: The Woodland Hills High School Marching Band & Images Visual Ensemble will host their annual competition, which features eight bands. The Woodland Hills show this year is Things that Go "Bump" in the Night, featuring the music of Danse Macabre, Pure Imagination, and Thriller. The Band and Images will be traveling to the Fiesta Bowl in Phoenix, AZ this December.

Admission: $8 for adults and $4 for students and senior citizens.



5. Flea Market with Boy Scout Troop 23

When/Where: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28  at First Presbyterian Church of Edgewood, 120 East Swissvale Ave. 

Why Go: Boy Scout Troop 23 will hold a Flea Market with proceeds to be used to fund troop activities.

Admission: Free.
