SOS Clean Up and Meeting Dates Set

Save our Swissvale is holding a community cleanup event this weekend and will be holding its second meeting next week.

The organization, which was created in an effort to promote civic awareness within the borough, began meeting last month.

Its first cleanup event will be held Saturday morning, Aug. 17, at 10. anyone interested in participating should meet at the Noble Street parking lot to pick up trash bags. Those who can't make it are asked to "redd up" their own sidewalks.  

The organization's second meeting will take place at the Swissvale United Methodist Church / Living Spirit Ministry, 7415 Irvine St. on Thursday, Aug. 22, at 6:30 p.m.
