White Kitchens Never Go Out Of Style.

I’m currently in the process of designing four client kitchens, and the largest one is going mostly white.  I am choosing a darker truffle stain for the enormous, new island, but the perimeter cabinetry is a painted Omega, semi-custom cabinetry.

The massive center island will hold four stools, along with a pullout drawer microwave, two refrigerator drawers, deep utensil bins, and a host of other specialty drawers and doors.

The fun portion of a custom kitchen remodel is getting all of the specific storage needs you require instead of operating on a builder’s interpretation.  My client and I have spent six months designing, review and revising the plans and we landed on the final design of a white kitchen.

Every door, drawer nook and cranny has been analyzed and now is in the production stage.  After the cabinetry design was completed, we moved on the countertops and hardware.  The new, high-end appliances were purchased months ago so that we fit the cabinetry around the specifications for the new cool tools.

Many of the kitchens I’m designing are completed with hardwood flooring.  I’m not calling it a trend since hardwood floors have been in vogue forever.   Most clients recognize the value of hardwoods, and opt to take them throughout the house.

Plan your new kitchen update, or full remodel, carefully and of course I always recommend enlisting the help of a pro.  It will always be a savings in the end.
