How To Choose A Paint Color
Almost all of my client projects involve painting. The initial design plan is often jumpstarted with a paint color selection and the hiring of a professional painter.
A skilled painter knows how to do each job appropriately and never skimps on the prep process. Many new clients are unaware of what a good paint job costs, and are taken aback when presented with the quote. My role as the designer is to make sure that the project is managed properly from the beginning, to the end, and a great painter is key. A great paint job can last for years if done properly and by using a quality paint product. Many clients are pleasantly surprised that a good paint job actually transforms the space quickly, and is a good bang for your buck.
So, I do take this painting process seriously, and encourage clients to go with a preferred painter that will guarantee great results. Otherwise, the entire job will be compromised.

Another exercise that I encourage is to have your designer choose the colors for consideration, and have the painter apply a large sample to a variety of walls that are to be painted. This allows the client to live with these colors during the daylight hours, as well as when the sun goes down. Colors take on different hues depending upon the lighting. This is extremely important, and helps with the final decision.
So, take the time and effort to hire a pro to assist with the paint color selection, and always hire a skilled and reputable painter.
