Winter Solstice Class

Join Cara for her regularly schedule class to celebrate the Winter Solstice by candlelight. Winter Solstice gives you a break between the old year and the new one, on the shortest, darkest day, to reflect over the past, assess ourselves and set a personal direction for the future. Solstice refers to the two times of the year when the sun is closest to and farthest from the earth's equator. The word itself is of Latin origin with "sol" meaning "sun" and "sistere" meaning "stand still." The latter refers to the sun's apparent stoppage in the sky as observed by someone on Earth. Finding the motivation to get your body and soul moving on your yoga mat can be a great challenge during winter. This coming season is time of reflection and slowing down, but it does not mean hibernation from your practice. The class will begin by moving in Sun Salutations followed by a restorative/Yin segment and final relaxation.
