Word of God Rain Garden Complete, Students Celebrate

Nine Mile Run worked with the Swissvale school to complete the project.

After months of research and designing, and the Service Organization planted a rain garden in Swissvale.

All of the plants in the garden are indigenous to Western Pennsylania and are watered from run-off from the convent roof. This aids in keeping the rain run-off out of the sewers, helping the Nine Mile Run Watershed.

With the completion of the garden, Nine Mile Run Association and Word of God celebrated Sept. 12 with cake, drinks and a bit of weeding.
