Woodland Hills Upsets Upper St. Clair

Wolverines capitalize on Panthers' mistakes.

Woodland Hills defeated Upper St. Clair in the WPIAL playoff semifinals Friday night, 42-20.

The Panthers were never able to overcome a first quarter of mistakes.

The game began with Upper St. Clair fumbling the opening kickoff, in which Woodland Hills capitalized on with a touchdown.

Then Upper St. Clair had a bad snap and Woodland Hills turned it into another touchdown.

That was followed by another Upper St. Clair fumble that Woodland Hills scores on.

The Panthers kept the game interesting, scoring two touchdowns in the second quarter.

But there were more mistakes for USC in the second half. Woodland Hills caught three interceptions—two of them in the endzone.

Upper St. Clair ended the year with a 10-2 record.

Woodland Hills moves on to the WPIAL final against North Allegheny. The game will take place at 2 p.m. next Friday at Heinz Field.
