By Alix Glynn

The WHHS  Wolverines Rifle team won the WPIAL Championship on Tuesday, their first since 1998 and third in Woodland Hills history.

The Wolverines, who were the WPIAL runners-up last season, avenged last years’ loss to Trinity by defeating them, Hempfield, and Avella in the championships.

Woodland Hills shot a perfect score of 1000-77x, with the top 10 varsity shooters each scoring 100′s. The winning score of the top eight targets was 800-65x.

“Ever since I joined the team in my freshman year, we have always chased after the gold medal. We never fully grasped it in those past three years, but now, seeing everyone with gold medals around their necks is a really fulfilling feeling,” said senior Adam Livingston. “All those years of hard work has really paid off.”
