WHHS Marching Band, Images Win at Baldwin Tournament

The final competition of the year takes place at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Elizabeth Forward High School.

The Woodland Hills High School Marching Band and Images, under the direction of Thomas Crone, won first place at the Tournament of Bands Competition this past Saturday, Oct. 6, hosted by Baldwin High School

In the Class 4-Open competition, Woodland Hills scored a 77.25 to place first over the Upper St. Clair Marching Band, which scored a 66.75. Drum majors Joseph Strednak and Kristina Lewis were also victors, winning the Best Drum Major(s) caption award in Class 4-Open.

The band and Images also took first place at the Steel Valley Tournament of Bands competition on Sept. 22 with a score of 72.40.

The final competition of the season will be the Tournament of Bands Chapter XIII Championships, which will take place at Elizabeth Forward High School on Saturday. The WHHS Marching Band and Images are scheduled to perform in Class 4-Open competition at 4:45pm.  

The marching band and Images’ show is entitled “A Video Game Experience," featuring music from the video games Halo, Advent Rising, Tetris, Angry Birds and Kingdom Hearts.
