WH Foundation Prepares for Fundraiser

The annual Chocolate and Diamonds Affair is coming in February.

The Woodland Hills Foundation's third annual Chocolate and Diamonds Affair is being held Sat., Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. at the Edgewood Club.

Tickets are $50 per person. All proceeds will benefit the Woodland Hills Foundation, its student scholarships and faculty and staff mini-grants. Everyone is welcome to attend.

This year, two jewelers have donated diamonds, which will be won by a lucky attendee—James Douglas Jewelers and Forever Gold. Douglas donated a pair of diamond stud earrings and Forever Gold donated a pair of diamond earrings with a matching necklace. Those in attendance can purchase a $5 chance to win.

The chocolate is being donated by Asher's Chocolates. A Volunteer of the Year Award also will be presented at the event for the first time ever.

Two contests will take place as well for best chocolate cake in Woodland Hills and the best chocolate dessert in Woodland Hills. The contenders include Rise Above Bakery and Café, and Heaven's Scent Bakery, both on Ardmore Blvd. in Forest Hills. The contenders have been asked to bring in 100 samples of their cakes for each attendee to try. The attendees will then vote on which one they prefer, and the winner will receive a plaque which they can proudly hang in their establishment.
