Swissvale Students Earn Wolverine Spirit Awards

Congratulations to these local students for making a difference.

Two students from in were the Wolverine Spirit Awardees in February.

Fifth grader Tatiyanna Fant was nominated by her teacher, Amy Senkow, because, “she is a leader among her peers and an awesome role model. She is considerate of others and trustworthy. She makes education a priority, which makes her very successful academically. Tatiyanna is a warm, funny and humble individual. She is most deserving of the Wolverine Spirit Award.” 

James McCoy, a sixth grader, was the second award winner of the night. He was nominated by his teacher, Raechel Pricener, because, “he is a kind, respectful, responsible student and a leader among his peers. His work ethic is outstanding. James stands up for what is right. It is a joy to know him as a student and as a young man.”

Superintendent Dr. Walter M. Calinger presented certificates and Barnes and Nobles gift cards to the Wolverine Spirit Award winners. Assistant Principal Lyndsey Love helped in giving the awards.
