Shaffer Elementary Student Honored by Dok Harris for Food Drive

Vicie Simpson received a great award for organizing a food and tote drive at her school this past December.

Harris, who previously ran for mayor and is the son of famed Steeler Franco Harris, was met with a collective gasp from the students in the crowd. Harris discussed the importance of giving back to the community before giving Simpson her big surprise.

"We have a young lady here who took it upon herself to organize a food drive for those less fortunate," Harris said. "Your leadership is amazing."
