Propel Braddock Hills Hosts Students Against Destructive Decisions

SADD CEO to speak at the charter school Thursday, Feb. 17.

Stephen Wallace, CEO of Students Against Destructive Decisions, formerly Students Against Drunk Driving, is speaking at Propel Braddock Hills Thursday, Feb. 17. 

The event is a part of Propel's Family Focus speaker series and is open to communities surrounding the school. It will involve a discussion on the challenging issues facing teenagers in today's society.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. while the event will start at 6 p.m. at Propel, located at 1500 Yost Blvd., Braddock Hills.

Principal Joe Oliphant is encouraging students in 8th grade and above along with their parents to come to the event to learn more about preventing alcohol-related problems and tragedies.

In addition, "I am NOT a statistic" student-designed t-shirts will be available for purchase. Attendees also can bring canned or non-perishable items to be donated to the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank.

Light refreshments will be served along with a few prize baskets. The school also will have presentations by the Expect Respect Program as well as the student SADD group.

Elise Koslosky, an advisor at Propel, spearheaded this program and wrote the grant to bring the event to the school.
