Mrs. Pennsylvania Volunteers, Gives Back to Children in Wilkinsburg School

Recently crowned in March, Mrs. Pennsylvania was in town Thursday.

Mrs. Pennsylvania—also known as Kimberly McLendon—paid a visit to Johnston Elementary School Thursday where she volunteered with Blessings in a Backpack.

The organization works to provide children with weekend snacks and food who may not be getting the full meals that they need without school programs.  McLendon helped to organize food and back bags Thursday morning with her husband, Gary, and other local volunteers.

"I wanted to give back to the community and I have a passion for helping children," McLendon of Shicksbinny, PA, said. "I want to support Linda and visit all of the schools involved with Blessings in a Backpack."
