Movie Screening Wednesday About Penn Hills Native's Triumph over MS

The documentary tells the story of Tony Lonero, a Penn Hills baseball player who finished the grueling Paris-Brest-Paris cycling marathon three times since being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

"Ride to Finish," a movie about Tony Lonero, a 1977 Penn Hills High School graduate and standout athlete, will premiere at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Linton Middle School, 250 Aster St., Penn Hills.

Admission is free.

The movie will tell Lonero's story—from his days playing baseball in Penn Hills to playing professional baseball in Italy, including being part of the Italian Olympic team in 1984. However, after his baseball career ended, the story has a twist as he triumphs over being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2001 by finishing the 776-mile Paris-Brest-Paris cycling ultramarathon three times since then.
