Man Held for Court on Stalking Charges

District Judge Kim M. Hoots hears several cases in her Wilkinsburg courtroom on Aug. 23.

Alan Favo, 38, of Dormont was held for court by District Judge Kim M. Hoots on charges of stalking a woman who worked for a Wilkinsburg company that evicted him.

A charge of terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another was withdrawn. Wilkinsburg police filed the charges.

  • John Edward Jones, 35, of Pittsburgh waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of DUI (highest rate of alcohol, blood alcohol content .16+) second offense and DUI (general impairment, incapable of driving safely), second offense.He also waived his right to a hearing on charges of driving while license is suspended or revoked, driving while blood alcohol content is .02 or greater while driver's license is suspended, disregarding traffic lanes, failure to use turning movements and required signals, not driving at a safe speed, careless driving and failure to use restraint system (seat belt). The charges were filed after a traffic stop by an Edgewood police officer who observed Jones driving at an unsafe speed on April 22. 
  • Cain Jerome David, 39, of Wilkinsburg was held for court on charges of theft by unlawful taking-moveable property, receiving stolen property and defiant trespass. According to a criminal complaint filed by Wilkinsburg police, David stole several items from a secured lot at JMF Underground at the former East Hills Shopping Center and was identified by the owner of a Penn Hills recyling company as having dropped a large number of items at his company.
  • Brandon Duane Jones, 20, no address given, was held for court on charges of burglary, conspiracy-theft by unlawful taking-moveable property and criminal mischief for a burglary Aug. 3 at a Holland Avenue residence in Wilkinsburg. Wilkinsburg police filed the charges.
  • Timothy Nathaniel Barth, no age or address available, waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of theft by deception, retail theft, receiving stolen property, three counts of forgery, access device used to sign a signature on a check, identity theft and disorderly conduct. According to a criminal complaint filed by Edgewood police, Barth allegedly stole checks which came back to the in Edgewood Towne Centre with insufficient funds on May 22. A charge of one count of manufacturing or sellling false IDs was withdrawn.
  • Anthony Giacchino, no age given, of Uniontown waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, prohibited acts (possession of a controlled substance-heroin) and attempting to hide a drug following a traffic stop by Wilkinsburg police April 17 on Graham Boulevard.
