The Xfinity High School Sports Game of the Week for the opening round of the 2012 WPIAL Football Playoffs will feature Woodland Hills hosting North Hills in a Class AAAA game at the Wolvarena.
The game will be available to all Comcast Digital Starter and above subscribers beginning Monday, Nov. 5, by choosing the Get Local, Sports and Football folders on their Xfinity On Demand menu. Comcast’s playoff coverage also includes the availability of all games to Comcast subscribers online at www.xfinity.com/highschoolsports and on their mobile devices via the free Xfinity TV app.
The Xfinity High School Sports Game of Week will be called by the talented team of Chris Shovlin and Ellis Cannon.
Woodland Hills (7-2) finished third in the highly-competitive Southeastern Conference under coach George Novak, winning each of its final four games and scoring 35 or more points in six of its last seven games. North Hills (6-3) finished fourth in the Northern Eight Conference under coach Jack McCurry after winning five of its last seven games.
This compelling first-round game is part of the 10th consecutive season of local high school football coverage for Comcast. Comcast’s high school sports programming has been nominated multiple times for regional Emmy Awards.
