Dickson, Wilkins Elementary Schools Win Free Supplies

The Education Partnership will provide free supplies to two Woodland Hills schools.

Two Woodland Hills School District elementary schools will receive free school supplies.

The Education Partnership, a non-profit organization that provides school supplies to local children in need, has selected 23 schools to receive school supplies for the 2013-2014 school year. Among those schools are Dickson Elementary and Wilkins Primary.

Schools with 70 percent or more of students qualifying for a free/reduced lunch through the National School Lunch Program could apply. About 58 schools applied, and a committee comprised of local education professionals chose the receiving schools based on a variety of criterion.

Participating schools will receive free school and classroom supplies to equip a student and classroom for an entire school year. Teachers will be invited to The Education Partnership’s Resource Center multiple times during the school year to receive supplies for themselves and their students. The organizations also will visit each school during the holiday season for a special student distribution.
