Fate of Ardmore Boulevard Office Building Up in Air Again

The 102-year-old building had no bidders at a sheriff's sale this week, so the mortgage holder has taken the foreclosed property.

The vacant 102-year-old office building at the corner of Ardmore Boulevard and Braddock Road in Forest Hills had no bidders at an Allegheny County Sheriff's sale this week.

Just last summer, Giant Eagle wanted as a site for a GetGo gas station but the supermarket chain was unable to secure enough property to make that happen after Forest Hills Presbyterian Church members voted against selling a portion of the church property needed to make that happen.

With no one interested in bidding on the building, the mortgage holder, Verona-based Engineered Products Inc., took the foreclosed property, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. The Trib reports that EPI will likely sell the building, but first would have to pay about $30,000 in property taxes owed to the county, Woodland Hills School District and Forest Hills.
