Turtle Creek Mayor Launches 'Walk and Talk' Initiative

The community outreach program addresses issues and concerns in Turtle Creek neighborhoods.

Turtle Creek Mayor Adam Forgie is meeting face to face with constituents to hear their concerns, discuss issues, and pose solutions.

The mayor's office has launched a "Walk and Talk" initiative, a community outreach program that opens the communication lines with neighbors.

"I am very excited about the outcome that this will bring to our community," Forgie said.

In an effort to better understand the concerns and issues affecting Turtle Creek neighborhoods and streets, Forgie is willing to come to a neighborhood to meet with residents.

Forgie said he believes that local government works from the ground up. By interacting firsthand and touring local streets, he hopes to better understand what must be done to correct the issues and concerns.

Forgie also wants residents to share some of the great things that may be happening in their part of the borough.

After a tour is completed, a follow up meeting is arranged to discuss the actions taken to solve the issues.

"I am really excited about this new program. I have had two meetings so far, which were received very well," Forgie said.

He said the first meeting was on Sycamore Street and dealt with garbage issues and a few vacant properties. The second meeting was on Locust Street and focused on parking problems and how to correct them.

Forgie said more meetings are scheduled over the next few weeks

To schedule a tour, call Mayor Adam Forgie at 412-823-0154 or 412-427-7161. Leave your name, address and a phone number where you can be reached. You may also contact the mayor through e-mail at Forg17@comcast.net
