Sewage Tax Increase Moves Forward in Edgewood

Borough council held the second reading of an ordinance Monday night.

Edgewood Council Monday night held the second of three required readings of an ordinance that would increase the sewage fee, taking effect this October.

The sewage surcharge for all property owners would be increased to $4.70 per 1,000 gallons used from the current charge of $3.70 per 1,000 gallons used.

Council will read the ordinance again at its meeting July 5. If approved by a vote, the increase would apply to second quarter billing, which has a due date in October of this year.
