Port Authority Approves Budget With No Fare Hike

A reduced fare will also be available to some riders.

For the first time in a long time, the Port Authority approved a budget with no talks of fare hikes or service cuts, according to the Post-Gazette.

The 2013-14 $366.6 million spending plan was OK'd Friday.

The budget also includes a welcoming change for riders with disabilities. Starting in September, a half-fare rate will go into a effect, according to the newspaper.

Previously, the reduced rate was only offered to riders with disabilities during nonpeak hours.
