Open House Saturday for Church Condominiums

Swissvale Economic Development Corp. and Mon Valley Initiative are holding a holiday open house Dec. 3 at the Madonna Del Castello Condominiums—four new condominiums adapted from an historical Swissvale church.

The event is from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at 2101, 2103, 2105 and 2107 Hazeltine Way at Duquesne Avenue in . As part of Swissvale’s concurrent Night of Lights festivities, the event includes the illumination of formerly dark windows.

This eye-catching church structure with Moorish front gable has been completely
renovated into breathtaking townhouses incorporating modern amenities while
preserving barrel-vaulted ceilings, cast plaster ornamentation and arched windows.

Two other renovated homes for sale as part of the 16-unit —7353 Burton Ave. and 7421 Park Ave.—will be open for
viewing. Representatives from the project team will be available during the open house to answer questions about the project and to provide sale information.

in partnership with Mon Valley Initiative. It was supported with funding
from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, HUD Neighborhood Stabilization Program, Allegheny County Economic Development, Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and Swissvale Borough.

Lami Grubb Architects provided design services, Mistick Construction completed the church renovations and DRS Construction rehabilitated the two single-family homes.
