No Tax Increase in Edgewood for 2013

Also, new police car purchased, full-time police officer hired.

Here are some highlights from last week's Edgewood Council meeting:

  • Council set the borough tax rate at 5.65 mills on each $1,000 of assessed value of a home or property. This makes the 2013 budget revenue neutral, and indicates no tax increase for 2013. Assessment appeals are still being heard.
  • Joseph Tomko was sworn in as a full-time police officer by Mayor Ed Cook.
  • The borough will purchase a 2012 Dodge Charger police car from Tri-Star Motors for $26,987.
