Forest Hills Council Discusses Community Day, Electronic Recycling Event

Council met Wednesday night.

Council met Wednesday night for its regular meeting, discussing several issues. The following topics were addressed:

  • County Councilman William Robinson, who now covers the Forest Hills area, attended the beginning of the meeting to introduce himself and also told council he is always available for advice.
  • This Saturday, Goodwill is partnering with the borough in an electronic recycling event. Residents can bring old computers, TV’s and other items. For more information, .
  • The borough recently received an A+ credit rating from Standard and Poor’s.
  • The Forest Hills community pool is now open for the summer.
  • Forest Hills Community Day will take place July 4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the borough park, located near the corner of Braddock Road and Ardmore Blvd.
  • On Friday July 6, the newly opened restaurant will celebrate a ribbon-cutting ceremony with local leaders.
  • A new camera system recently was installed at the Forest Hills Police Department to increase safety and visibility.
  • Borough manager Steve Morus recently was elected as the first vice president of the Association for Pennsylvania Municipal Management.

The next council meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m., July 18.
