The ordinance passed at Tuesday's council meeting.

Edgewood Council Tuesday night passed a resolution increasing the sewage tax surcharge to $4.70 per 1,000 gallons used.

Council President Pat Schaefer said the increase, which is up from $3.70 per 1,000 gallons used, is important "to continue with necessary (and mandated) sewer repairs."

In other news, council is looking for local volunteers for the recreation board and planning commission.
