Woodland Hills Student Charged with Resisting Arrest, Stunned with Taser

The incident occurred at the high school May 8.

Churchill police recently tased a student during an incident in which he and his girlfriend were found reportedly trying to have sex in a locker room.

The student, Paul Baker Jr., 18, of Churchill waived his right to a preliminary hearing this week before in . He is charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, two counts of harassment and two counts of simple assault, according to court documents.

An officer on duty at the school May 8 was called to assist after a teacher contacted him from a locker room. The police criminal complaint states that the teacher found a juvenile female half-naked there, where he also saw a young man run away.

The girl told police and the teacher that Baker Jr., the man, was her boyfriend and that they went into the locker room to have sex.

School security found Baker Jr. and escorted him to the office. Principal Dan Stephens then called the young man’s parents before asking the student to explain the situation, the complaint states.

Baker Jr. became irate and started to scream profanities at the officer and administrators in the room. When he was asked to stop screaming, he ignored the requests and started flailing his arms, striking the people in the room, according to the complaint.

The complaint states the officer struck Baker Jr. and used verbal commands to make him stop. After several attempts, the officer was able to access his taser and activated it. Baker pushed the Taser away, but was then stunned near the upper chest and shoulder area of his body.

After being stunned for a third time, Baker Jr. complied with police, put his hands behind his back and was handcuffed while waiting for his parents to arrive.
