Woman Dies After School Bus Accident in Forest Hills

Alberta Slaczka, 67, has died after being hit by a school bus last week.

A woman who was hit by a school bus in Forest Hills last week has died, according to WTAE.

Alberta Slaczka, 67, of Wilkins underwent surgery at UPMC Mercy for a broken hip and broken ribs following the May 1 accident on Greensburg Pike.

Ernest Brevard, 71, is accused of hitting Slaczka with his bus and leaving the scene of the accident.

According to court documents, he faces charges of accidents involving death or personal injury, immediate notice of accident to police, false reports, careless driving, reckless driving and failure to stop at a stop sign. Allegheny County police filed the charges.

His preliminary hearing before Forest Hills District Judge Thomas Caulfield was scheduled for today. The rescheduled date is unknown at this time. It also is unclear if Brevard will face additional charges.
