U.S. Marshals Task Force Captures Fugitive on Wilkinsburg Border

Members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force apprehended John W. Doswell, 64, on Tuesday morning for violating the required registration as a convicted sex offender.

Doswell of 7943 Madiera St., just over the Wilkinsburg border in Homewood, has a criminal history for crimes of violence, including rape. The Pennsylvania Megan's Law website lists him as a non-compliant violent offender.

Also captured this morning were:

• James Parrish, 29, at a residence in Crawford Village, McKeesport. Parrish had been evading capture on charges out of Georgia since 2008 and was wanted on charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault by local authorities. He had an assault rifle and numerous rounds of ammunition in his possession at the time of his arrest.

• Richard Parker, 31, of Pittsburgh for violating required registration as a convicted sex offenders.

• Akinyele Scott, 43, of Pittsburgh, for parole violations. Scott was on parole for assault and drug-related offenses.

Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force Tuesday morning consisted of officers from the Pennsylvania State Police, State Parole Board, Westmoreland County Sheriff Department, City of Pittsburgh police and Deputy U.S. Marshals.

The U.S. Marshal’s Service is the nation’s oldest federal law enforcement agency. U.S. Marshals annually capture more federal fugitives than all other federal law enforcement agencies combined.
