Two Men Arrested in Morning Street Robbery

Swissvale police responded to the scene in less than a minute, chief said.

Two men were arrested in Swissvale Tuesday afternoon after robbing a man on the street with a gun.

The street robbery occurred at the 7300 block of Denniston Avenue at 9:43 a.m. Tuesday morning. Swissvale police responded in less than a minute, Chief Greg Geppert said.

Davone Gordon, 18, of Silverdale Street was arrested. Shortly after, a second suspect who was a juvenile also was apprehended.

“A pursuit ensued and with the assistance of Rankin and Edgewood police departments, we took two males into custody,” Geppert said. “Officers located the stolen belongings and the gun after the suspects were caught.”

The two men stole the victim’s keys, wallet and phone, all of which were returned, Geppert said. No one was injured.
