Tuesday Vigil Remembers Slain Wilkinsburg High Student

It's been two years since Jason Paylor Jr. was gunned down on South Avenue—and his family and friends remembered him last night.

Tuesday night, the family, neighbors and friends of Jason Patrick Paylor Jr. held a candlelight vigil on the spot where he died as a show of love and support—and to seek justice and answers for the death of the 17-year-old.

Paylor, a Wilkinsburg High School junior known as "JayP", was gunned down in front of his home during broad daylight on a Saturday afternoon, Oct. 2, 2010. The honor student had hoped to be an artist.

A poster on the wall in the office of District Judge Kim M. Hoots in Wilkinsburg showed a photo of Paylor. Beside it was taped a written, photocopied notice from one of his parents, noting that he died of four gunshot wounds and asking people to wear white T-shirts to the vigil.
