Police officers have charged 34 individuals in an undercover drug investigation in downtown Pittsburgh, including three Wilkinsburg men.

Davon Loveings, 19, Brandon Taylor, 21, and Joe Middlebrook, 40, are all charged with possession of a controlled substance, intent to deliver a controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance.

The investigation was initiated in response to numerous complaints of open-air drug sales downtown, but more specifically, the sale of prescription pills at the Smithfield Street McDonald’s during the early morning hours.

During the investigation, Pittsburgh police officers personally witnessed the rampant sale of prescription pills inside and around the McDonald’s restaurant located in the 500 block of Smithfield Street. Undercover officers were able to make numerous purchases of Xanax, Klonopin and Suboxone in and around this location.

Undercover officers also came across other drug dealers who were selling heroin, crack cocaine and marijuana, and were able to make several purchases of those drugs as well.
